When closing, is the gate supposed to travel past the latch then return and lock?
Not always, depending on the gate adjustment and speed of tractor, basically the speed of closing. The gate is designed to pass by the latch on fast closures rather then slamming shut hard.
top^ -
Are there any adjustments?
Yes, closure speed, cable height, cable tension, latch pressure, post position are all adjustable. The gate can also be easily moved up higher in winter weather for better ice and snow clearance.

How fast do I drive through?
As slowly or quickly as you like. Slowly like the about page video or even slower to allow livestock to disperse safely from gate area, you can even stop mid way. If clear quickly like the second video or anywhere in between.

What if something hooks the gate and you don't stop in time?
If this does happen the gate panel detaches itself from the hinge post and is easily re-attached. In the history of the gates we've had no reports of this occurrence. When the gate is closed it cannot be detached.
top^ -
Is there any power source at all?
No. The gate has no power source itself at all. Its the tractors forward motion that opens the gate and internal mechanics that closes it.
top^ -
Can cattle escape through the gate?
No, the trigger wire is up too high and the hand release is too smooth. When the gate is latched, its impossible to unlatch without cable or hand release being used. When the gate is in use the tractor and gate panel occupy the space through which to escape. In the gates twelve years history there has never been even a single animal escape. Either way the gate latches when your completely through.

Can the gate be added to existing posts?
No, it needs its own hinge and latch posts.
top^ -
How do I attach my existing fencing?
Each post has a channel iron that you can attach any fencing system to.
top^ -
How long does the cable last?
Typically the cable will last over 10 years depending on use. The gate is designed for simple replacement of cable.
top^ -
Do I have to have a loader to drive through the gate?
No, a cable push bracket can be used instead.
